Finding the perfect fit
Finding the right size bra can be a daunting task – especially as more than 80% of British women are wearing the wrong size and it’s not too surprising really, after all, when was the last time you were measured?
One of the main problems can be that we don’t even realize that we’re wearing the wrong sized bra to begin with and unless you know the symptoms then you may never know – meaning a lifetime of ill support, lumps, bumps and a mismatched silhouette.
Here’s a quick guide to finding out whether your bra is ill fitting.
First of all let’s consider the band size. To see if your bra band is the right size, the easiest way to check is to raise your arms above your head and seeing if the band rides up at the back. The bra band should fit snugly against your skin, all the way around and shouldn’t move around whilst you are moving about. The underwire should also sit flat against your skin.
The bra band should fit snugly, but you should be able to fit 2 fingers underneath the band (no more than this or it’s too big). If you’ve been wearing the wrong sized bra then this may feel tight but you will soon get used to it and it will provide much better support!
If you suffer from an inverted ‘v’ shape at the back of the band or the front of the band pulls down underneath your breasts, then your bra may be too small. Another obvious symptom is red marks from where the straps dig into your skin!
So what about the cup size? Well the adjoining part of the bra, between the cups, should lie flat against your skin. If this comes away from your body then the cup size is too small. There should be no bulging and the bra should sit smoothly against your breasts – n easy way to check for bulges is to pull on a tight tee and these will immediately become apparent!
The underwire should be flat against your ribcage at the side of the bra, View the whole collection on offer at K & Co and find the perfect fit for
